Gable Steveson’s Real-Life Brother Damon Kemp Reacts To Steveson’s WWE Debut Match

Gable Steveson’s Real-Life Brother Damon Kemp Reacts To Steveson’s WWE Debut Match WWE

WWE NXT star Damon Kemp has reacted his real-life brother Olympic Gold Medalist Gable Steveson making his in-ring debut at NXT Great American Bash 2023.

Steveson’s highly anticipated first WWE match came against Baron Corbin, who himself was debuting the next iteration of his character, complete with a brand new entrance, gear and theme.

Given it was Steveson’s debut and the high hopes WWE have for him, many assumed he would pick up the win.

However, this did not come to pass, and instead Corbin and Steveson battled to a double count-out, having to be separated by referees and security in a post-match brawl.

This was met by disappointment from not only the fans in the arena, but also seemingly Steveson’s own flesh and blood as Damon Kemp (real name Bobby Steveson) took to Twitter to comment on the result, saying:

I mean if the guy would’ve had a “proper trainer”, maybe he would’ve won his NXT debut.

Gable has been on opposing sides to his brother on NXT TV in the lead to his debut match, instead aligning himself with Eddy Thorpe, who Kemp himself lost to in an ‘NXT Underground’ match on the 27 June edition of NXT.

While unclear at present, one would maybe expect the brothers to face off in some capacity in the future whilst both part of the NXT brand.

Despite Steveson having his first WWE match under his belt, he may be set for a hiatus in the near future to pursue his amateur wrestling ambitions – click here to read about the ongoing uncertainty over the situation.
