An AEW star has posted their emotional live reaction to a history-making moment from AEW Dynamite: Title Tuesday.
In the second of two championship matches on the card, Hikaru Shida challenged reigning AEW Women’s World Champion Saraya, just six weeks after the Japanese star lost her title at All In London on August 27.
Despite some interference from Ruby Soho and her trusty can of green spray paint, Shida would get the win and in-turn making history as AEW’s first-ever three-time AEW Women’s World Champion.
Following the result, Shida’s fellow countrywoman Emi Sakura took to Twitter to post her immediate reaction to the title change, showing a great deal of emotion at the result, even being embraced by AEW referee Aubrey Edwards.
Sakura captioned the video, sharing her disbelief at the result:
I didn’t believe in her victory at all, the emotions ran me over.
You can see the full video of Sakura’s reaction below.
Sakura and Shida have faced off numerous times in AEW across the last four years in the promotion, with their last bout coming on the August 30 AEW Dynamite on opposing teams in trios action.
