Former AEW Star ‘Speaking’ With WWE

A former AEW star has revealed that they are “speaking” with WWE amid their current spell as a free agent.

Following his AEW departure earlier this month, Matt Hardy has revealed that he currently speaking with his former employer WWE.

The multi-time tag team champion has been dropping teases on social media regarding a potential return to the company, with his most recent post regarding a potential involvement in Bo Dallas’ impeding WWE return catching a lot of attention.

Now, speaking on the Extreme Life of Matt Hardy podcast (via Patreon early release) – Hardy discussed the teases and what his current status is, stating that he has not only spoken with WWE but is also in “constant” contact with AEW.

“I mean, full disclosure, I am doing what I should be doing as a free agent — creating hype around myself.

“Yes, I have been speaking with AEW constantly. I have been speaking with WWE. I’ve been speaking with several people across several different platforms.

“So I think the next couple of weeks are going to be fun. The next few weeks are going to be fun. As I said before, I think we’re getting to the point where we’re going to be doing some pretty cool stuff coming up.

“So yeah, I am doing what I should be doing. And my job as a brand, which I have to look at myself as a brand, a lot of my social media stuff is ‘Matt Hardy Brand.’

“My job as a brand is to promote myself and to create buzz around myself, and I feel like I do a pretty decent job with it whenever I am just able to kind of freelance and do whatever.”

Hardy would also note that he’s enjoying his time as a free agent thus far and is not in an immediate rush to make a decision on his future.
