Cody Rhodes made mention to a former WWE star during his fiery response promo to Brock Lesnar on tonight’s (April 10) WWE Raw show.
During the promo, Cody made mention to his friend ‘Matt’, saying that he told him that wins and losses do matter, and the only people who say they don’t are those that have finished their story.
Cody also made reference to going from ‘undercard to EVP’, which made many suspect the Matt he was referencing was fellow AEW EVP Matt Jackson of the Young Bucks.
However, the Matt in question seems to be former WWE star Matt Cardona (FKA Zack Ryder), who took to Twitter during the segment to acknowledge Cody for the shout out.
He simply tweeted:
Hi @CodyRhodes
Cody ended the segment by challenging Brock Lesnar to a match at Backlash in Puerto Rico next month.
Hi @CodyRhodes
