In a video uploaded to All Elite Wrestling’s Twitter account today, Shawn Spears, formerly Tye Dillinger in WWE and NXT, was confirmed to be appearing in the Casino Battle Royal at Double or Nothing’s pre-show.
The video shows him revealing the number ten card, so perhaps this could be a hint that he will be continuing to use something similar to the “Perfect 10” gimmick he used in WWE.

Spears will be just one of 21 names in the pre-show match, where the winner will receive a shot at the future AEW World Championship. The rest of the confirmed entrants in the match are as follows:
- Brandon Cutler
- Glacier
- Sonny Kiss
- Ace Romero
- Sunny Daze
- Brian Pillman Jr.
- MJF
- Joey Janela
- Dustin Thomas
- Billy Gunn
- Jimmy Havoc
- Michael Nakazawa
- Jungle Boy
- Luchasaurus
- Isiah Kassidy
- Marq Quen
The man formerly known as Tye Dillinger was granted his WWE release two months ago, and it was widely expected that he would end up in AEW. This news comes after Shawn revealed last week that he and current WWE star Tyler Breeze will be starting their own wrestling school. At this time, it is unknown if Spears has signed a full-time AEW deal, or if he has just agreed to appear at the new promotion’s first official show.
