Gunther Reaches Another Impressive WWE Milestone WWE

Gunther has had a very impressive run on the WWE main roster since his arrival on the SmackDown after WrestleMania 38 last year.

Gunther went on to capture the Intercontinental Championship from Ricochet shortly after his debut, capturing the title back in June 2022.

Gunther has gone on to have an incredible run with the title, including a match of the year contender with Sheamus at Clash at the Castle, and an insane performance in the Royal Rumble match.

Gunther broke the record for the most time spent in a regular Royal Rumble match, lasting 71 minutes before being eliminated by Cody Rhodes.

Now though, Gunther has broken another record during his short WWE run.

Gunther, as of February 1, has held the Intercontinental Championship for 235 days, which makes him the longest reigning Intercontinental Champion in the past 18 years.

Coincidentally, it was Cody’s reign back in 2011 and 2012 that Gunther passed to earn the milestone.

He is 9 days away from surpassing Shelton Benjamin’s first run with the title, which would then make him the longest reigning Intercontinental Champion of the millennium.
