Hikuleo WWE Name Change Confirmed

Hikuleo WWE Name Change Confirmed WWE

Hikuleo’s WWE name change has now been officially confirmed following his debut at Night of Champions tonight.

After signing with WWE last year, former New Japan Pro Wrestling star Hikuleo did not make an appearance on WWE television, with many fans wondering when the seven foot giant would show his face on WWE programming for the first time.

Shortly after his signing, WWE had trademarked the name for ‘Talla Tonga’, which many assumed would be for Hikuleo, the brother of both Tama Tonga and Tonga Loa.

After recently competing in a number of dark matches under the name Hikuleo, the big man finally appeared on television for the first time, aiding Solo Sikoa against Jacob Fatu, helping Solo capture the United States Championship.

However, Hikuleo was never mentioned by name on the broadcast, much like Ricky Saints and Blake Monroe weren’t prior to them being renamed in the company, with him simply being referred to as the younger brother of Tama Tonga and Tonga Loa.

On the post show for Night of Champions, Solo Sikoa spoke after winning the United States Championship, and while Hikuleo was still not mentioned by name, his new name was confirmed on the broadcast.

On the ticker at the bottom of the screen, the headline read that Solo Sikoa won the title thanks to help from JC Mateo, a returning Tonga Loa and ‘a debuting Tala Tonga’, confirming Tala Tonga will be Hikuleo’s new name in WWE.

The name is a slight modification from the previously trademarked Talla Tonga last year.
