According to a backstage report, a recent hilarious WWE moment happened entirely off the cuff as one wrestler adlibbed his own joke.
On this week’s edition of WWE NXT, there was an intriguing in-ring segment, setting up the future opponent for Oba Femi at NXT Stand and Deliver.
With Josh Briggs appearing to challenge the North American Champion Oba Femi for a match, instead they were joined by Dijak.
In the back and forth exchange in the ring, when Briggs referred to Dijak as a ‘wannabe Shaft’, Dijak’s response was not only hilarious, it was reportedly unscripted.
Dijak asked Briggs if he really just compared him to Shaft, as in the Samuel L. Jackson Shaft and then added the zing, ”Bro I don’t know if you can see this or not, but I’m white’.
According to a report from Fightful Select, Dijak’s ‘I’m white,’ response was ‘off the cuff’.
While the moment was adlibbed, it also reportedly drew laughs from backstage so adding yet another feather to the cap of Dijak.
Dijak continues to impress on WWE NXT with growing fan support on the main roster again with a ‘Push Dijak’ sign popping up at TV tapings recently.
It remains to be seen who will face Oba Femi for the NXT North American Championship at NXT Stand & Deliver as per NXT GM Ava, she has an upcoming opportunity in mind to determine who will get the match.
