Tonight’s episode of WWE Raw certainly looks set to be a very interesting show.
We’ve got a WWE Universal Championship number one contender’s match to determine who will take on Brock Lesnar at SummerSlam.
There will be a WWE Raw Tag Team Title match between the B-Team and the Deleters of Worlds.
Stephanie McMahon will make an appearance to make a “historic” announcement.
And WWE has just announced via Twitter that the first ever WWE Universal Champion, Finn Bálor, will go one-on-one with former NXT Champion, Drew McIntyre.
BREAKING: It'll be @FinnBalor vs. @DMcIntyreWWE as they go head-to-head TONIGHT on #RAW!
— WWE (@WWE) July 23, 2018
Both men competed in a Triple Threat match last week on Raw, which was won by Roman Reigns. The ‘Big Dog’ will take on Bobby Lashley in the number one contender’s match this evening.
Bálor is (not very) hot off the heels of a feud against Baron Corbin, with the former winning their match at Extreme Rules. Will Corbin play a part in tonight’s match?
There is also the possibility of a Dolph Ziggler outside influence, which could either lead to Bálor vs. Ziggler for the WWE Intercontinental Championship at SummerSlam or possibly even the Scot taking on the ‘#Heel’ in the case of a botched run-in attempt.
Either way, it will be interesting to see what sort of impact this match will have on the ‘Biggest Event of the Summer.’
Here’s what McIntyre tweeted in regards to tonight’s encounter:
Last week @FinnBalor cost me my opportunity to compete in the number one contenders match for the chance to face @BrockLesnar at #SummerSlam for the Universal Championship
Tonight I wipe that ridiculous smile off his face permanently #Raw https://t.co/aLXomgLSWs
