A potential show-stealer awaits us next week on SmackDown Live as we reach the culmination of the WWE SmackDown Live Tag Team Tournament. You know, that tournament put together by the one general manager who likes to announce her presence? That one.
Following their victory over the Usos on this week’s episode (which received some pretty big praise *wink wink*), the Bar are scheduled to battle the New Day to determine the number one contenders to the Bludgeon Brothers. The subsequent championship match will take place at SummerSlam on August 19.
The last time these two teams collided in doubles action was on the May 15 blue show, where the New Day were victorious in qualifying for the men’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match. On May 29 they fought again in a 6-Man Tag Team Match with the Bar being accompanied by The Miz. Again, The New Day were victorious. Will this be the time the Bar manage to overcome The New Day? A change of scenery would be welcome.
