An update has been provided on internal discussions of a WWE tag team receiving a gimmick change.
Maximum Male Models have been an up and down run on the main roster since their formation in 2022.
First, the group was led by Max Dupri after Vince McMahon didn’t see the former NXT star as an in-ring talent. However, Triple H and his regime rechristened him LA Knight, seeing the star potential in him.
In recent months, Maxxine Dupri was effectively pulled from the group and put with the Alpha Academy’s Chad Gable and Otis full-time.
As previously reported, there has been backstage discussion of the duo of Mansoor and Mace receiving a gimmick change.
Replying to a fan who suggested Maximum Male Models move to NXT, Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp confirmed that internal discussion regarding the repackaging of the group did take place during SummerSlam weekend in Detroit. He wrote:
There was internal discussion of repackaging them a couple months back that picked up again this weekend when I talked to people in Detroit.
I thought they were good as is. Very entertaining duo
As previously reported, reports revealed scrapped character plans for Mace last month.
