Is Vince Russo All In?

One of the most hotly anticipated shows of 2018 is coming up September 1 in Chicago, Illinois. The Bullet Club’s All In 10,000-seat arena event has drawn the eyes of many fans, superstars, and celebrities alike. It seems now that even former WWE, WCW and TNA writer Vince Russo has taken to Twitter to offer his services for the upcoming indie super show.

Russo praised Cody Rhodes and the Young Bucks but said that what wrestling really needs is some controversy. Having Russo cut a promo on fans at the event would certainly be controversial being the polarizing figure that he is.

Though he gave us some amazing moments during the ‘Attitude Era’ in WWE, Russo seems to have floundered without Vince McMahon’s guiding hand. He is often credited with the downfall of WCW and the decline of TNA. This was due, in part, to his ‘swerve-heavy’ mentality as well as having a habit of booking himself into main event storylines.

Russo notes in his tweet that he wants to bring back “reality and controversy”. While the Jerry Springer style booking played well in the 90s, today’s social climate would probably not be as receptive. That said, he can draw heat just by showing up, and a well-done promo on all the “marks” could produce more boos than a Vince McMahon/Shawn Michaels meet-and-greet in Calgary.
