Ahead of their Queen of the Ring final match at WWE Night of Champions, IYO SKY has fired shots in the direction of her opponent, Liv Morgan, albeit with some faint praise.
The June 27 WWE Night of Champions takes place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, with IYO SKY facing Liv Morgan, the current Women’s World Champion, in the Queen of the Ring final.
Over on Twitter, IYO SKY shared her thoughts on her opponent, firing a shot at The Judgment Day member, along with a reference to Liv’s public appearance in the crowd to watch the Japan vs. Netherlands World Cup 2026 game on June 14, posting (translated by Grok):
“The opponent in the tournament final is Liv Morgan (Liv Morgan), who went viral during the World Cup for Keisuke Honda’s “Who?” comment.
“Liv is the current WWE Women’s World Champion.
“She’s insufferable, but honestly cute, and tough in matches too.
“But I won’t let you get your hands on both the championship belt and the crown—no way—🔥🔥🔥”
Former Japanese international Keisuke Honda was providing commentary for the Group F game when Liv Morgan was shown on the screen, causing the former AC Milan midfielder to comment: “Who’s that woman?” Thankfully, the presenter was able to fill the footballer in on the details.
Liv Morgan would reply to IYO SKY’s tweet in a post of her own, stating:
“I knew you thought I was cute 🤭”
With implications for SummerSlam aplenty, the card for WWE Night of Champions can be found right here.
From One Championship To Another
The Queen of the Ring final sees an opportunity for Liv Morgan, as the Women’s World Champion, to head to SummerSlam and a Women’s Championship match against her long-time rival, Rhea Ripley, assuming The Judgment Day member can overcome IYO SKY.
It’s an interesting situation for Morgan to be in, as a loss at Night of Champions would see SKY become Queen of the Ring, securing either a rematch at SummerSlam, but with the Women’s World Championship on the line, or challenging for the Women’s Championship against the aforementioned Ripley.
The idea of Morgan as a double champion would mirror Dominik Mysterio, who, for a time, held both the WWE Intercontinental Championship and AAA Mega Championship, although this time on a world title level. Very much a celebrator of her own superiority, the very thought of Morgan holding two titles would no doubt make her even more venomous across both brands.
For SKY, however, facing Ripley would play into the dynamic of their friendship, with the potential for a heel turn at SummerSlam for either star, setting a new trajectory for the pair and the title on SmackDown.
Either way, more will become clear at Night of Champions, which also sees Jey Uso take on Oba Femi in the King of the Ring final.
