IYO SKY on X
IYO SKY has explained how herself and Naraku now both being a part of WWE influenced their decision to announce their marriage to one another.
In an announcement today (May 17), IYO SKY and Naraku confirmed that they were now officially a married couple.
While it was known that SKY and the former EVIL were an item, the pair waited until today to confirm publicly that they had taken the next step in their relationship, and according to SKY in an interview with Tokyo Sports, that decision was due to them now both being members of the WWE roster.
Explaining how they previously didn’t think it was necessary to disclose information about their private life when they were wrestling in different promotions, SKY said:
“Until now, we had been performing in different rings, so we didn’t think it was necessary to reveal our private lives.
“We thought it would be fine for our fans to enjoy our independent work. But now that we are both WWE members and colleagues, we thought it would be good to let everyone know that we are married.”

SKY and Naraku first met in 2018 before she signed with WWE, and now for the first time since then, they will be working in close proximity for the same company.
Opening up about her and Naraku’s relationship, SKY explained how she feels she can “show her true self” when she’s with her husband:
“I felt like I could show him my true self, or even more relaxed than my true self, without being in ‘battle mode,’ and I thought, ‘He’s the one.'”

While Naraku is known for his dark, brooding demeanour, SKY said he has a different side that he only shows her:
“He has a side he only shows to me. Beneath his sunglasses, he has incredibly clear eyes…”
“We’ve never fought. He gently envelops me in his darkness.”

Despite never fighting, they both had differing answers when asked who developed feelings first between them:
IYO: “I think he did, but maybe I’m being a little conceited.”
Naraku: “I think she did.”

While IYO SKY is firmly established as one of WWE’s top stars, Naraku is beginning his WWE journey in NXT, so they are not yet at the point of sharing a locker room.
However, the former IWGP Heavyweight Champion appears set for big things on NXT, as he confronted NXT Champion Tony D’Angelo on his debut and vowed to “take over the whole damn place” on Tuesday nights after earning a win over Lince Dorado in his WWE debut match last week.
