The NWA has announced via Twitter that the ‘Cowboy’ James Storm will take on NWA World Heavyweight Champion Nick Aldis for the title at a pop-up event next year.
The event will take place on January 5 at the Wilma Rudolph Event Center in Clarksville, Tennessee, and will be the first ever pop-up event held by the NWA.
Aldis is a two-time NWA World Heavyweight Champion, having defeated Cody Rhodes at the 70th Anniversary show in October to regain the strap having lost it to Cody at ALL IN in September.

This won’t be the first time the pair have squared off, of course. During their time in IMPACT Wrestling, Storm memorably defeated Aldis in an Unsanctioned match at Slammiversary in 2015.
Storm has won NWA gold in the past, too. He is a seven-time NWA Tag Team Champion, having won the titles six times with Chris Harris, and on one occasion with Christopher Daniels. Despite this, he’s never had a one-on-one shot at the World Title gold.
Do you think James Storm will defeat Aldis for the NWA Title? Let us know in the comments, on Twitter, or on Discord.
