Following her retirement from MMA, Former UFC star Jessica Eye has confirmed that she’s interested in pursuing a pro-wrestling career.
In February, Eye took to social media to state that she wants to wrestle in AEW.
Eye retired from the sport of MMA after losing to Maycee Barber at UFC 276 on Saturday. In the post-fight press conference, Eye noted that she’d be open to a run with AEW or WWE, noting:
“Well I’m gonna go to Cabo at the end of the month because I’m turning 36. But you know, I’ve always wanted to dabble in wrestling, in pro wrestling. I wanna be the female Undertaker man. I wanna ride a motorcycle down to the (ring) and DDT somebody, you know?
“I’d love to do that and I tried out a couple years ago during COVID and I didn’t end up making it and you know, suffered a lot of health issues. I lost my gallbladder, found out about the parasite so, you know, AEW, WWE, let’s go. Jessica ‘Evil’ Eye is ready. Jessica ‘Evil’ Eye does not end here. She’s just starting a new journey.
“It’s hard (pro wrestling training) and it’s just as hard as professional fighting and there’s a lot more skill set, there’s more coordination. You know, we’re fighters, we’re not coordinating anything out there and sometimes you go through these practices and you coordinate the moves, right? You’re like, ‘Hey, you’re gonna do this to that person.’”
Ahead of his main event fight, UFC Middleweight Champion Israel Adesanya paid homage to the Undertaker with a Deadman inspired walk-out. Adesanya has revealed that he plans to try his hand at pro-wrestling in the future.
