In a shocking move, IWGP United States Champion Jon Moxley has made his return to New Japan Pro Wrestling.
On the U.S.-based NJPW Strong program, Moxley returned to confront KENTA. KENTA has been the number one contender for Moxley’s IWGP United States title since winning the New Japan Cup USA tournament last year.
Following the show’s main event, Bullet Club attacked their opponents only for the lights to go out. When they came back on Moxley was in the ring. Moxley hit KENTA with the Death Rider and cut a promo on him. He said he doesn’t care about red lights and his foot is now up KENTA’s ass. He said KENTA’s dream of being champion is a nightmare. He concluded by saying in Tokyo they will have their match at some point.
This marks the first time he has appeared live and in-person on a New Japan show since New Beginning in Osaka last February. Moxley had appeared at Wrestle Kingdom 15 in a pre-recorded video on January 4. Jon Moxley has been unable to appear for New Japan because of the pandemic but has remained the United States Champion because it is against Japanese customs to strip him of the title without injury.
