Kazuchika Okada Discusses Possible Kenny Omega Match At Forbidden Door Event NJPW

The All Elite Wrestling x New Japan Pro Wrestling joint event ‘Forbidden Door’ is officially set for June 26 in Chicago, Illinois at the United Center, and fans and wrestlers alike have already begun dreaming of matches.

One highly fantasized match is a rematch between former AEW World Champion Kenny Omega and Kazuchika Okada after their legendary matches in NJPW.

Okada himself spoke about the event to Sports Illustrated, and was asked about a potential future encounter with Omega. Okada questioned whether or not there was still unfinished business between the two, but is open to the match if fans are up to it.

He said:

“Is there still unfinished business there? I’ve already wrestled a lot of great opponents. It was an honor for me last month to team with Tatsumi Fujinami and wrestle against a legend like Yoshiaki Fujiwara. There are a lot of truly great professional wrestlers out there and a lot of possible dream matches. If running me and Kenny back really is a dream match, well then that’s definitely a direction to take.”

Okada continued on, speaking about the matches that fans are predicting for the show. He said that he believes one day he will face off with CM Punk and Bryan Danielson.

He said:

“Forbidden Door with AEW has just been announced, and all the fans are predicting various matches. I believe the day will come when I wrestle CM Punk and Bryan Danielson.”

Several other New Japan Pro Wrestling stars have begun discussing possible matches at the show, such as Tetsuya Naito and KENTA.
