Former Universal Champion Kevin Owens has named Shawn Michaels as the WWE legend he keeps “bothering” for a WrestleMania match.
Kevin Owens has etched his own legacy at WrestleMania since his first outing at the biggest show of the wrestling year.
Making the event his own by dubbing “KO Mania,” Owens has faced Stone Cold Steve Austin, Sami Zayn, The Usos, Shane McMahon & Daniel Bryan, Chris Jericho, Seth Rollins and more in his WrestleMania history.
KO has even headlined the Showcase of the Immortals the past two years with his victory alongside Sami Zayn over Jimmy and Jey Uso closing night one in 2023.
Appearing on Fanatics Live, Kevin Owens admitted that he asks Shawn Michaels for a match at WrestleMania every year, but he has yet to receive a “yes.” He joked:
“I keep bothering Shawn Michaels every year to come back. He just won’t. He’s so nice about it every year.”
“This year, I texted him, he didn’t answer me for two months and then when he answered me it was to say, ‘Well, I know I’m a little late, but I just had shoulder surgery, so I don’t think it’s happening.'”
“You could’ve said no two months ago. You didn’t have to get cut for it,”
Kevin Owens will face Logan Paul and Randy Orton in a triple threat match for the WWE United States Championship at WrestleMania 40.
