Konosuke Takeshita has revealed the NJPW star he would like to face.
At AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door, Konosuke Takeshita got to share the ring with New Japan talent for the first time.
Takeshita teamed up with Shota Umino, Jon Moxley, Wheeler Yuta and Claudio Castagnoli in a loss to Tomohiro Ishii, Eddie Kingston and The Elite’s Hangman Adam Page and The Young Bucks.
On Tuesday, June 27, after a post from NJPW star Shingo Takagi declaring he was waiting for an offer for another AEW bout, Takeshita took to Twitter to accept the challenge. He tweeted:
“I want to fight in the AEW ring someday,”
Konosuke Takeshita vs. Shingo Takagi is a dream match that many fans would love to see. Both stars became top talent outside of the NJPW umbrella with Takeshita working for DDT and Takagi working for Dragon Gate.
Both men left their home promotions and have now found success in new companies with Shingo becoming IWGP World Heavyweight Champion, while Takeshita has become a massive heel for AEW after aligning with Don Callis and turning heel on Kenny Omega.
