Didn’t we all? Of all the people who could have faced WWE legend Kurt Angle in his last ever match, Baron flippin’ Corbin was chosen.
You could hear the collective groan ring out throughout the entire wrestling world when Kurt made the announcement on last night’s Raw, and it’s safe to say there’s been a bit of a backlash.
Kurt Angle’s wife replied to a tweet from Jim Ross who called the match “underwhelming” with a since deleted “very”. She also tweeted earlier in the night to acknowledge all the fans chanting “we want Cena”.
She has since tweeted the below, quite obviously to cover herself for her earlier tweet which WWE would not have been happy about.
Guys, it’s pro wrestling. Its like watching a movie. I’m no way upset with my husband wrestling Corbin. Lol I love having fun with yall. But It is really nice to see how many fans support Kurt on how he should be sent off. ❤ #AllLove

Yeah, good one, Giovanna.
It’s fair to say that Baron Corbin was pretty much bottom of the list for most people’s choice to face Angle in his retirement match, so the only question that remains is whether WWE will realise this and make the decision to change the match for something less depressing.
