A major AEW star may have suffered an injury at this past weekend’s Full Gear pay-per-view event in Los Angeles.
AEW World Champion MJF wrestled twice on the pay-per-view, the first on the Zero Hour pre-show, teaming with Samoa Joe to defend his ROH Tag Team Championship against the Gunns.
MJF’s leg was attacked after the match, with him going on to work the main event with a kayfabe leg injury.
While MJF’s leg may not have actually been injured, he did reportedly suffer an injury during the match.
Per WrestlePurists on Twitter, MJF was said to have hurt his hip during the main event with Jay White, and had to have his hip popped back in after the show.
On top of the hip, he was also said to have banged up his shoulder.
MJF is not expected to miss any television time, but the plan is for him to be featured in a non-wrestling capacity while he is healing up.
The report was confirmed by Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful, who said he had also heard that MJF’s hip had been hurt at Full Gear.
Another AEW star is also currently sidelined with an injury, which you can see here.
There has been an update on MJF potentially signing with WWE ahead of his reported contract expiration in 2024.
I can confirm I've also heard word of MJF's hip being hurt this weekend. https://t.co/35MHmFIIc6
