Finn Balor and Roman Reigns were advertised to have a contract signing on WWE SmackDown. If there’s one thing for certain about wrestling contract signings is that they never go to plan.
This one was no different. Balor was about to sign the contract when he was attacked by Baron Corbin. Corbin took out Balor and was going to sign his name on the contract.

As he was about to sign, John Cena ran down to the ring to stop him. Cena then signed the contract himself and handed it to Adam Pearce.
The commentary team was unsure of what it would mean. In the next segment, Adam Pearce said it was signed, sealed, and delivered. Pearce says it was good enough for him. Sonya says it’s ratified and official.
John Cena and Roman Reigns is official for SummerSlam. That was a roundabout way to get there.
