Following Hard To Kill this weekend, Ethan Page took to his Patreon to share his unhappiness with how his cinematic match with The Karate Man turned out, and we now have an update on that.
Fightful Select is reporting that Page didn’t want to bring The Karate Man to TV, but IMPACT Executive Don Callis is a “big fan and proponent” of the character that started on Page’s YouTube channel.
The report notes that Page also didn’t want to properly split from Josh Alexander to keep options for The North open for the future, and chose to bring the Karate Man to IMPACT instead of properly splitting with his long-time partner:
To say Ethan Page wasn’t happy with the IMPACT Wrestling portrayal of Karate Man was an understatement. Page was adamant that Karate Man not even be introduced into IMPACT Wrestling, but has noted that he was also adamant about not wanting a violent split or breakup of the North, to leave options for he and Josh Alexander open elsewhere. However, Page was allegedly given a decision of getting his way with one of those, and decided that not splitting The North was more important than him. He was not able to see a final cut of the production. Don Callis was said to have been a big fan and proponent of the Karate Man character.
Ethan Page has actually been done with IMPACT Wrestling since December, and is reportedly fielding offers from both WWE and AEW.
