More details have emerged on former TNA World Champion Josh Alexander’s contract status, following confirmation that TNA Wrestling has extended his current deal.
TNA Wrestling has now confirmed Sports Illustrated’s report that the promotion has exercised its option to extend the contract of Josh Alexander.
While this report noted that Alexander is now set to become a free agent in 2025, no other details were disclosed.
Per Fightful Select, Alexander’s deal would’ve expired on February 14 if TNA Wrestling didn’t exercise the option year.
His new deal will expire on February 14, 2025 as it’s for a year.
The report noted that Alexander’s deal wasn’t extended as a result of injury time, as many had suspected. According to Fightful, Alexander was working backstage and as a producer while out of action due to his tricep injury in early 2023.
Alexander first started out with TNA Wrestling in 2018 as an enhancement talent, before officially signing with the promotion in February 2019.
It was only during this tenure that he became a full-time wrestler, with Alexander announcing in 2021 that he was able to quit the job he previously needed to support his family while wrestling.
Another former TNA World Champion’s contract is set to expire however, which you can read more about right here.
