Maki Itoh has very quickly become one of the most popular members of the independent wrestling world in recent months, which has spilled over to her appearances for AEW.
Maki last appeared for AEW as the joker in the women’s Owen Hart Foundation tournament, where she was defeated by eventual tournament winner Britt Baker.
Fans were eagerly awaiting Itoh’s return to AEW programming, which officially took place last night during the AEW Dark: Elevation tapings.
Maki teamed with Emi Sakura to defeat the duo of Skye Blue and former AEW Women’s World Champion Hikaru Shida.
