Matt Hardy Names Dream Opponents For Hardy Boyz Last Match  AEW

Matt Hardy has named the stars who he would like to face in the Hardy Boyz’ final ever match.

During a recent edition of The Extreme Life of Matt Hardy, the AEW star said he would like team with his brother Jeff for ‘one last match’ against another iconic tag team: Edge and Christian.

Hardy explained:

“Our rivalry is just so iconic. I feel like that would be a pretty amazing way to end it, having one last match with those guys.”

During WWE’s Attitude Era, the tag team division evolved into a tour de force with three iconic pairings.

Edge and Christian, the Hardy Boyz and the Dudley Boyz participated in a number of memorable matches, bringing the iconic Table, Ladders and Chairs (oh my!) match-up to prominence.

While D-Von Dudley is retired, he continues to work backstage for WWE as a producer. His tag partner, Bubba Ray Dudley still wrestles as Bully Ray, and co-hosts Busted Open.

Edge recently hinted at his retirement while addressing a WWE crowd in Toronto. You can read more about this here.

Christian Cage is signed to AEW, where he has been aligned with Luchasaurus.

A final match for Matt Hardy may be some way off.

He’s currently involved in a storyline with Ethan Page and Private Party. It was revealed recently that Matt and Ethan Page pitched the story to AEW.

Matt and Jeff Hardy’s ‘final run’ was announced earlier this year. It was, unfortunately, cut short after Hardy’s arrest on June 13.

Matt recently shared his hopes for a final Hardy Boyz run on AEW, which you can read more about right here.
