Tony Khan Praised For ‘Reshuffling The Deck’ On Dynamite After Backstage Altercation AEW

Matt Hardy has commented on the recent AEW backstage drama, praising Tony Khan for ‘reshuffling the deck’ before Dynamite.

Following CM Punk’s verbal tirade during the All Out media scrum, Punk, Kenny Omega and the Young Bucks were all allegedly involved in a backstage fight.

It is believed that these stars have all been suspended. On the September 7 edition of Dynamite, Tony Khan announced that Punk had been stripped of the AEW World Championship, and the Elite of the Trios Championship.

The Trios Title was won by Death Triangle later that night. The next AEW World Champion will be decided in a special tournament, with the finals slated for Dynamite: Grand Slam.

On his Extreme Life of Matt Hardy podcast, Matt Hardy noted that Tony Khan did a good job at resetting the championships.

Hardy said:

“It certainly took people by surprise (the AEW All Out press conference and fallout), especially because we did a complete refresh on the Dynamite that followed because we reset our champions. I thought Tony Khan did a good job reshuffling the deck and giving a great Dynamite.

“It’s going to be interesting to see what the ratings are going to be. I imagine, because there was so much buzz on AEW all week, and buzz is buzz. it makes a lot of people want to tune into AEW. I’m very curious as to what the numbers are. Fortunately, it was a great show too.”

A new report has indicated that MJF, along with a number of other ‘neutral’ parties, are set to be questioned in AEW’s investigation surrounding the altercation.
