More details have emerged regarding the arrest of current AEW World Tag Team Champion Cash Wheeler of FTR.

Wheeler, real name Daniel Wheeler, was arrested this morning (Friday, August 18) and charged with aggravated assault with a firearm.

It’s emerged that a warrant for Wheeler’s arrest was actually filed on July 28, and he filed a plea of not guilty via his attorney on August 8.

That means, just to clarify, the incident is something that happened several weeks ago.

Aggravated assault with a firearm is a third degree felony in Florida.

He is currently incarcerated in Florida and has a hearing scheduled for 1pm today.

AEW issued the following statement:

“AEW has been made aware of the charge, and we are closely monitoring the situation. He is fully cooperating with local authorities.”
