The replacement for Mustafa Ali against Dominik Mysterio at NXT No Mercy after the former was released from the company is now known.
There was a fatal four way match held to determine who would face Dominik Mysterio at NXT No Mercy on tonight’s episode of NXT (September 26).
After it was originally announced as a Triple Threat match, Trick Williams was seen in a backstage segment going into Shawn Michaels’ office following his earlier win over Joe Gacy.
After coming out of the office, he confirmed that he had been added to the match joining the field that was already set for Tyler Bate vs. Axiom vs. Dragon Lee.
Trick Williams captured the pinfall victory and the title shot against Dominik Mysterio at NXT No Mercy on Saturday, September 30.
In a backstage segment Dominik Mysterio was incensed that he even had to still have a match at NXT No Mercy, instead first noting his plan to hang out “on a big comfy couch with Mami and eat chicken tendies.”
As the show went off the air there was a big special guest referee announced for the match: Dragon Lee.
As referenced above, the match was originally supposed to be Mysterio vs Mustafa Ali, but Ali was one of the many names released by WWE towards the end of last week.
Also, another main roster WWE star was announced for a title match at the premium live event. You can find out more about that by clicking here.
