WWE Backlash 2023 saw the company’s first return to Puerto Rico for a major event since New Year’s Revolution back in January 2005.
The show was largely well received from fans, however, the reaction from the live audience in San Juan would become the true topic of discussion, reacting massively to the entirety of the night’s action and in turn adding an invaluable amount to the show as a whole.
The positivity surrounding WWE’s trip to Puerto Rico has naturally led to questions being asked about future international premium live events, something that the WWE on BT Sport Twitter account would ask, following Backlash.
The account would name Backlash alongside other electric recent event’s outside of America, including February’s Elimination Chamber from Toronto, Canada and last September’s Clash at the Castle from Cardiff, Wales.
In response to the post, Smackdown star and LWO member Santos Escobar would throw his native Mexico into the hat, calling for a future international live event to take place there.
If Escobar got his wish it would of course be another excellent opportunity for WWE to expand their growth, and would sure to be another memorable experience for the ever-expanding ranks of the LWO.
New LWO member Bad Bunny would steal the show at Backlash, defeating Damian Priest in a wild San Juan Street Fight match.
The match was incredibly well received backstage, with Triple H’s reaction to Bunny being captured on video.
The rapper’s performance was such a hit that WWE have reportedly already earmarked him for an appearance for a future premium live event, click here to find out more.
