New WWE Signing Suffers Injury, Planned Title Match Postponed

Speaking on the latest Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer has revealed that new NXT signing Wes Lee of MSK has suffered a broken hand, causing plans NXT had for the tag team titles to be changed.

Meltzer explained that the reason MSK haven’t been given an NXT Tag Team Championship match against Oney Lorcan and Danny Burch yet after winning the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic is that Wes Lee has legitimately broken his hand:

“Wes Lee did have a broken hand, he got it in the tag team match with the Grizzled Young Veterans on the TakeOver show on one of his dives. So that’s why there’s no Tag Team Title match with Lorcan & Burch against MSK that was originally scheduled for Wednesday’s show, because he’s hurt. So the injury angle that they did on TV last week was to cover up for a real injury, so he’s actually really hurt.”

At this time, the plans that WWE has for MSK are unclear, as is how long Wes Lee is scheduled to be out of the ring for. For any potential updates on both, make sure you stay tuned to WrestleTalk.com.
