The Endeavor deal to takeover WWE was officially finalised this past Tuesday (September 12), with UFC and WWE merging to form the TKO Group.
The merger is set to create a lot of big changes to both the WWE and UFC, with WWE president Nick Khan recently discussing the idea of potential ‘all-star weekends’ consisting of a WWE premium live event and a UFC pay-per-view.
Speaking on the Bill Simmons Podcast, Khan spoke about another big event TKO is hoping to create, a ‘spectacle event’ similar to the NFL Draft.
He said:
“The NFL Draft. The first in Philly, where they took it out of New York and hundreds of thousands of people are there. What is there like that for UFC and WWE that could work? That’s something we’re hyper-focused on.”
WWE recently held it’s post-acquisition layoffs, with over 100 employees being laid off following the merger with TKO.
Khan also discussed the possibility of UFC stars crossing over into careers in WWE following the merger, which you can read here.
