An NJPW star has sent a warning in the direction of Will Ospreay and Jon Moxley, making his intentions toward the AEW stars clear.

With Will Ospreay having formed an alliance with Jon Moxley, the star has gone on to become an integral component of Death Riders, something that hasn’t necessarily sat well with his United Empire teammates over in NJPW.

At the recent NJPW G1 Climax 36 show, Newman shared a message to Moxley and Ospreay during his backstage comments.

Suggesting that United Empire may be preparing to pay them a visit in AEW, Newman said:

“Will, Moxley, I see what you’re trying to do.

“You’ve seen all the stuff we’ve been talking about. We’ve been calling you out ever since we stepped foot on Dynamite. You know what that means? If you don’t want to come to us in Japan, we’ll happily come to you.

“Don’t think I’m gonna forgive and forget. Billy, I’ll see you soon.”

Ospreay returned to New Japan Pro-Wrestling earlier this year, suggesting that he wanted to repair the rift between himself and Newman.

With AEW All In set to take place at Wembley Stadium in London, England on August 30, Newman would once again reach out to Ospreay, noting that he had the star’s back if he could rely on his support in return.

Although still a member of United Empire and a NEVER Openweight 6-Man Tag Team Champion, alongside HENARE and Great-O-Khan, Ospreay’s standing within Death Riders is clearly setting him on a collision course with Newman.

Ospreay Takes Flight

With AEW All In: London taking place on August 30, odds are that Will Ospreay will be in the main event of the Wembley Stadium pay-per-view, challenging Kenny Omega for the World Championship.

A two-time International Champion, Ospreay hold the World Championship would elevate one of AEW’s top stars to whole new heights, cementing a legacy under Tony Khan that started with his very first appearance in June 2022, while still signed with NJPW and long before he would become All Elite.

It was just September of last year that saw Ospreay undergo surgery, repairing herniated discs in his spine, with the star returning with all the vigor that had brought him to such a prominent position in AEW. His feud with Moxley would morph into his membership of Death Riders, with the lead calling him “mentally fragile” following his surgery and much time spent showing Ospreay being toughened up by the relentless faction.

A harder-edged Ospreay is an interesting prospect, with the star suffering a single defeat (against Mark Davis by referee’s decision on the April 22 episode of Dynamite) since his loss to Moxley at AEW Dynasty.

Now very much a member of Death Riders, Ospreay has teamed with Moxley twice in July, seeing victories over The Swirl (Blake Christian & Lee Johnson) and The WorkHorseMen (Anthony Henry & JD Drake) on back-to-back episodes of Dynamite.

Moxley has clearly given Ospreay renewed focus on his goals, with the upcoming match against Omega offering another opportunity for the star to shine.
