A pair of NXT UK stars have expressed their interest in teaming with WWE Hall of Famer Edge against New Day in a six-man tag match.
The Pretty Deadly tag team of Lewis Howley and Sam Stoker handpicked Edge as the ideal third member of their team during an exclusive interview with WrestleTalk.
Firstly, when asked about dream opponents, Stoker said:
“Let’s imagine it, it’s a few weeks from now, we’ve beaten Gallus – because we will – and we are NXT UK Tag Team Champions. The team I’d pick we’re gonna face, the New Day. I want the New Day. Any iteration – give me Big E, give me Kofi, give me Xavier, two of the three. We’ll have the third one over there.”
Then, when asked about a partner for a potential six-man tag team match against all three New Day members, Stoker added:
“So, we’ve decided, it’s the New Day vs Pretty Deadly. This is Pretty Deadly version two. We’re gonna bring someone who recently has hit some milestones, a legend, a Hall of Famer. Edge. We know he’s got it in him – we’ve seen his tag team days, we’ve seen the shirts he wears, we’ve seen his hair. He was a good looking lad, he still is, but, we want the old Edge. We want that Pretty Deadly Edge.”
Pretty Deadly are the #1 contenders for the NXT UK Tag Team Championship and will challenge current champions Mark Coffey & Wolfgang on an upcoming episode of NXT UK.
