Raw Star Reveals ‘Pet Peeve’ Surrounding WWE Recruitment Program WWE

WWE Raw star Zoey Stark has shared her honest thoughts about WWE hiring athletes through NIL ‘Next In Line’ deals.

Following the reboot of NXT in 2021, WWE has prioritised investing in younger athletes, rather than recruiting independent wrestling veterans.

Since then, WWE has been offering promising college athletes NIL deals, in the hopes that these stars will be able to make the transition to pro-wrestling in the future.

Notable WWE NIL signings include Gable Steveson, who made his in-ring debut earlier this year, and the Cavinder Twins, who have appeared for WWE on several occasions.

Speaking with The Messenger, Stark admitted that she took issue with some recent tryout attendees who didn’t know much about WWE.

Explaining why this is her ‘pet peeve’, Stark said:

“That’s the thing, passion, that’s the main word, right? Bring in the athletes. That’s great.

“I have nothing against the NIL or anything like that. It’s just, what do you do when you have a job interview? You look up the company. You know who the boss is. You know who the owner is. You know a little bit about what’s going on.

“You don’t have to know the history, but you do your research. So when people don’t do the research, it’s just like, ‘Man, you knew this tryout has been coming for months. Just do a little research. That’s all I ask.”

Stark was called up to the main roster in April, and was aligned with Trish Stratus in May.

She cut ties with the WWE Hall of Famer at WWE Payback, attacking Stratus following her cage match against Becky Lynch.

A wrestling veteran believes Triple H has big plans for Stark, which you can read more about right here.
