WWE star Pete Dunne helped produce an acclaimed Intercontinental Championship match according to his former tag team partner Luke Menzies (Ridge Holland).

As well as working inside the ring as Rayo Americano, Pete Dunne has become known for his skills as a producer behind the scenes in WWE.

It was reported that “The Bruiserweight” was working as a producer in AAA following WWE’s acquisition of the promotion in Spring 2025, and more recently it was revealed that Dunne produced what many fans believe is WWE’s best match of 2026: the Mask vs. Mask bout between El Grande Americano and “Original” El Grande Americano (Chad Gable) at AAA Noche de Los Grandes on May 30.

Well, it turns out that Dunne’s skills in putting matches together dates well before last year, as according to his former Brawling Brutes stablemate Luke Menzies, Dunne helped craft GUNTHER and Sheamus’ much acclaimed Intercontinental Title match at WWE Clash at the Castle 2022.

Speaking with Sports Jedi Network, Menzies said the following, whilst discussing his run with Sheamus and Dunne in the Brawling Brutes:

“Sheamus had that match with WALTER (GUNTHER), which obviously Pete helped put that together, because he’s a genius.”

Luke Menzies Addresses Sheamus’ Organic Popularity After GUNTHER Match, Feud With The Bloodline

While the trio would be totally disbanded by the end of the following year, in late 2022 Sheamus, Ridge Holland and Pete Dunne (then known as Butch) were featured at the top of the card on SmackDown, and even opposed The Bloodline in the WarGames Match at Survivor Series 2022, along with Drew McIntyre.

Further discussing the group’s run, Menzies admitted that while he feels WWE could have done a lot more with the Brawling Brutes, he understands that The Bloodline storyline took precedence over their plans.

Menzies continued:

“We started to get organically over then. Sheamus was probably the most organically over he’d been in his career. We had the great matches with Imperium, the Donnybrook in Philly I believe it was. I think we stole the show, I think we were on first and we stole the show.

“I just don’t think, running alongside us, trying to make headway was The Bloodline story. And let’s be honest, it was awesome The Bloodline story. It’s ok for me to say they should have done more with us but their hands were full from a creative standpoint with creating and making this Bloodline story the best it can be.

“We did what we could with what we had. Even though it could have had more legs and gone further, I think we should all look back on that, especially me and Pete, and think we did a great job, and it was fun while it lasted.

“In spite of the regret of… It could have been a lot more, individual character wise, and rising above the precipice as characters and being a lot more successful and getting to that next level in WWE. That’s what we wanted but we never got.”
