A former WWE World Heavyweight Champion has debuted in AAA after Rey Mysterio recently teased their arrival.

On WWE AAA television in recent weeks, AAA General Manager Rey Mysterio has been discussing ways to grow the AAA brand, which included in him reaching a deal with NXT General Manager Robert Stone for recent NXT television appearances.

On top of that, Rey had teased that a former WWE World Champion was set to arrive in AAA, leading to speculation on who it could be.

Damian Priest Debuts For WWE AAA

On tonight’s episode of WWE AAA on FOX, Rey Mysterio opened up the show with a big announcement, where he would reveal that the former World Champion was none other than current WWE Tag Team Champion Damian Priest.

Priest would say that he has accomplished a lot during his career, but has yet to do it in AAA, before saying that he was looking to reach the mountain top in AAA as well.

Priest may soon be a champion in AAA, as he and R-Truth are set to face the War Raiders in a WWE & AAA Tag Team Championship title vs. title match on SmackDown after weeks of backstage confrontations.

More Main Roster Stars To Appear In AAA?

With Damian Priest now arriving in AAA, as well as recent appearances from names such as Bayley and former NXT Women’s Champion Lola Vice, it seems as though almost anyone currently on the main roster could make an appearance in AAA in the future.

AAA’s portion of the El Grande Americano vs. Original El Grande Americano rival will go down as one of the hottest anywhere in wrestling all year, while the feud was largely taking place to silence on Monday Night Raw, which has opened a lot of fans’ eyes to the brand.

There are a number of currently underused names on the WWE main roster, such as Fraxiom, Ilja Dragunov, Johnny Gargano and Candice LeRae, that could make for fun additions to the AAA roster should they want to compete more frequently.

With Rey Fenix defending the AAA Cruiserweight Championship on SmackDown in recent weeks, including against AAA’s Hijo del Vikingo, it seems as though integration between the WWE main roster and AAA roster will continue to expand.
