Real Reason Top Star Missed AEW Dynamite AEW

Last night’s AEW Dynamite from Independence, Missouri saw a number of memorable moments including the ‘dream match’ between Kenny Omega vs El Hijo Del Vikingo and The Young Bucks’ mystery attack storyline.

However, one thing the show was glaringly missing was the presence of the AEW Women’s Champion Jamie Hayter.

Following Toni Storm’s victory over Skye Blue, Ruby Soho and Saraya were set to spray-paint the customary L on Skye before being run out the ring by Riho and Willow Nightingale, who were noticeably not accompanied by their recent allies of Britt Baker and Hayter.

So, why was the AEW Women’s Champ not present? Dave Meltzer has the answer via Wrestling Observer Radio and thankfully there’s no real cause for concern, with Hayter’s Visa renewal the reason for her absence.

Meltzer said:

“Jamie Hayter, she wasn’t on the show this week. She’ll be back pretty soon, but what happened is she had to return to England for visa reasons, to get her visa renewed and everything like that, which is something that happens.

“All of the foreign talent in WWE from time to time, they might disappear for a couple of weeks every couple of years for this.

“It’s all worked out and it’s all fine, but I’m not sure which week she’ll be back. But she’s not there right now.”

Meltzer’s update will come as a relief for fans of Hayter, with the AEW Women’s Champion currently embroiled in the AEW Originals vs Outcasts storyline.

AEW World Champion MJF was also absent from Dynamite, with PWInsider having reported he’d been seen in Los Angeles.
