An intriguing angle closed last night’s (September 27) episode of AEW Dynamite.
Earlier in the show, AEW World Champion MJF took part in a promo battle with Switchblade Jay White of Bullet Club Gold.
To close the show, Jay White was jumped by a number of masked individuals in a backstage assault led by a man wearing MJF’s devil mask.
The segment has led to a lot of online speculation as to who the masked attackers were, with the segment reminding a lot of people of the Retribution angle in WWE.
Reacting to the comparisons, recently released WWE star Mace, who was a member of the group, took to Twitter to let everyone know that he was not a part of this attack.
He wrote:
Don’t look at me, Slappy and I were streaming at http://twitch.tv/greatblackotaku
Mace and Mansoor have been streaming on Twitch since their releases from the company last Thursday, where they have told a lot of stories about their time in the company.
Mace recently recalled a hilarious first interaction he had with Vince McMahon during his time on commentary on Raw.
Also on the show, MJF and Adam Cole’s status for WrestleDream was revealed, which you can see here.
