Roman Reigns Had A Match During 205 Live

If you’ve ever been to a taping of Raw or SmackDown, you will know that WWE often puts on dark matches before or after the show to give fans something to get hyped about, or to give them something to cheer after the show goes off air.

This week, Roman Reigns had a match after SmackDown Live went off air, but unusually it actually took place during 205 Live. No-one will actually see the match as it took place while video packages were being played for the folks at home, but it was within the hour that 205 Live is given.

Fans watching the show would have wondered why the show didn’t just start with a match, well here’s your reason. It was all because of Roman Reigns.

Whether this will be something that WWE does going forward to try and get live audiences to stick around for 205 isn’t clear, but it was confirmed earlier this week that 205 Live will be continuing on the WWE Network after SmackDown Live on Friday nights, despite rumours that the show was being cancelled.

WWE is currently making a lot of changes with its schedule, so perhaps there just wasn’t enough content for the full hour of 205 Live so they needed lots of video packages as filler.

We shall see if this trend continues.
