AEW Star Comments On CM Punk & The Elite’s Issues AEW

An AEW star has commented on the issues between CM Punk and The Elite.

CM Punk is set to return to All Elite Wrestling on the premiere episode of AEW Collision on Saturday, June 17 from the United Center in Chicago, Illinois.

Punk will team up with AEW World Tag Team Champions FTR to face Samoa Joe and Bullet Club Gold’s Jay White and Juice Robinson in the main event. This will mark the first time that Punk and Joe will be wrestling each other since 2005 in Ring of Honor.

Speaking to Sports Illustrated, Samoa Joe discussed renewing his rivalry with Punk. He said:

“We’ve always competed to have the best match of the night, and that’s what we’re still competing to do.”

“It was our ambition that brought us together. We were two young gentlemen who believed we were the best in the world and that we could take it to anybody. That was evident in the young versions of both of us, and it’s manifested to where we are today.”

CM Punk has been absent from AEW since the aftermath of All Out 2022 when the former two-time AEW World Champion got into a physical altercation with The Elite’s Kenny Omega and The Young Bucks.

On the controversy between CM Punk and The Elite, Joe stated:

“This isn’t a divide, it’s an argument between men. All those dudes don’t represent the entire genre of their generation. They have their own issues and their own problems.”

“I don’t think it’s that deep. They’re grown-ass men. They have disagreements, they can figure it out or not. That’s between them.”

As previously reported, it was revealed that CM Punk pitched to wrestle on the debut of AEW Collision.

In an interview with ESPN released today, Punk broke his silence about the All Out incident and the situation with Hangman Page and the Elite – for Punk’s comments on that, click here.
