Several AEW stars were mentioned during tonight’s WWE Survivor Series 2023 live from Chicago, Illinois (November 25).
Michael Cole was on a mission to drop some names during the Intercontinental Championship match between GUNTHER and The Miz tonight.
On the champion’s walk to the ring, Michael Cole mentioned Chris Jericho by name, noting his record 9 Intercontinental Championship title reigns – this is the first time Jericho has been mentioned during the storyline despite multiple references to the record.
Next, recently signed AEW star Ric Flair was mentioned as Michael Cole noted that the Miz learned the Figure Four from Ric Flair.
Also during the match, ‘Edge’ (now known as Adam Copeland) was listed amongst a series of other WWE Hall of Famers.
In the end, the Miz put up a big effort however was bested by GUNTHER who continues his record-breaking reign as Intercontinental Champion.
Cole kept it going in the next match, mentioning Sting making his WWE debut at Survivor Series as well as The Shield, Jon Moxley’s former WWE faction with Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins.
