Shayna Baszler Official Status Confirmed Following WWE Return Rumors

Shayna Baszler has addressed her current status with WWE, following her recent backstage returns for the company.

While Shayna Baszler departed WWE in July, she worked backstage during her non-compete period and appeared during September’s NXT Homecoming TV special.

Because of this, there has been some speculation about Baszler potentially returning to WWE in a backstage capacity.

Speaking on Insight with Chris Van Vliet, Baszler stated that while she has the opportunity to be a guest coach, she hasn’t officially signed with WWE.

She explained:

“I’m not officially hired, but I have a good relationship with them. I’m officially guest coaching when the opportunity comes.

“I don’t hate it, I actually like it a lot more than I thought I would.

Baszler revealed that it was Bryan Danielson (fka Daniel Bryan) who inspired her to take on this backstage role, continuing:

“It was during COVID, and Daniel Bryan was always the guy sitting in Gorilla. I don’t know if it’s still the same way now, but it’s kind of like only the top guys can sit back on a headset in Gorilla.

“He was talking to me about, if you ever get a chance to sit in the truck or sit on a headset, it completely changed my wrestling.”

Shayna Baszler previously stated that, while she does find coaching very fulfilling, she feels she has a lot still to give in the ring, so would like to concentrate on her in-ring career for the time being.
