Sherilyn Guerrero, the daughter of Eddie Guerrero, has opened up on accepting wrestling back into her life after the WWE legend’s passing.

On November 13, 2005, the wrestling world lost one of it’s most beloved performers, when WWE Hall of Famer Eddie Guerrero unexpectedly passed away at the age of 38.

Eddie left behind three daughters, Shaul, Sherilyn and Kaylie, with Shaul and Sherilyn both following in their father’s footsteps into the wrestling industry, though it took a long time for Sherilyn to accept the sport back into her life.

Sherilyn Guerrero Opens Up On Accepting Wrestling Again After Eddie Guerrero’s Passing

Speaking on the Smooth Vega Podcast, Sherilyn was asked if she had any resentment towards wrestling after her father’s passing, with her saying that her desire to watch it died when Eddie did.

She would later go on to accept wrestling back into her life, with her now having her ‘own addiction’ to the industry.

She said:

“I feel like when he died, wrestling died with me. The yearn to watch it, the yearn to be a wrestler, because I wanted to be a wrestler so bad when I was younger, and I feel like when he passed away, because it was so unexpected and soon, definitely it died with me.

“I had a long time before I was ready to even be okay with even accepting it back into my life, I feel like God always brought wrestling back to me in some way, form or shape, whether I tried to do the normal life or be behind the camera.

“So there’s no resentment, but I also feel like I had to even heal to love wrestling again, and I never expected to really be able to heal from it, then I went through a lot worse where I honed back into loving it and trying to get close with him again, because unfortunately he was always on the road, and when my dad was home, it was still wrestling that me and him bonded over.

“So it’s a good healing now, before it was ‘I hate it, get it away from me, because I’m scared of it’. But now I have my own addiction to it, I’ll tell you that. It’s addicting being in that ring and training and finding myself, especially finding the younger me that wanted it so bad.”

Sherilyn Guerrero’s Rising Wrestling Career

Years after her father’s tragic passing and her shunning wrestling out of her life for a number of years, Sherilyn officially begun training at WWE Hall of Famer Booker T’s Reality of Wrestling in October 2025.

Many current names in WWE and AEW found their footing in Booker’s Reality of Wrestling, including names like the Usos, Roxanne Perez and Athena, with Sherilyn potentially being next up out of the school.

Sherilyn wouldn’t be the first of Eddie’s daughters to reach WWE should she one day sign with the company, as her older sister Shaul Guerrero was part of the company’s FCW developmental territory in the early 2010s, with her being a former FCW Divas Champion under the name Raquel Diaz.
