Shinsuke Nakamura Reveals Additional Pitches For Recent Character Change WWE

A top WWE star has discussed a recent pitch made regarding his recent change of persona on TV, one that would see him wield a samurai sword on his way to the ring.

Speaking to Steve Fall of Wretslingnews.co, number one contender to the WWE World Heavyweight Championship Shinsuke Nakamura opened up regarding his heel turn and change of presentation in the recent months.

One of the most popular aspects of Nakamura’s character change has been his promos spoken completely in Japanese.

When asked about who’s idea it was to begin speaking to the WWE audience in his native tongue, Nakamura discussed pitching more implementation of Japanese culture into his character, such as Karate and even a samurai sword.

Nakamura explained:

“I don’t know whose idea it is. Definitely, I can put real emotion into speaking Japanese. I’m also enjoying to talk like that.

“Sometimes I pitch the idea of my attire and bringing the samurai sword and using karate as a weapon. I’m definitely enjoying what I’m doing right now. Being evil is kind of one of the real things from myself.

“It’s coming from real things. I’m not acting…”

Nakamura then added whether he prefers his current role as a heel or being a babyface, to which he replied:

“I can change. I’m just showing the side, like changing the dial like an old school television.”

Nakamura looks to tick off one of the few things left on his WWE bucket list and finally capture a world championship for the first time in seven years in the company.
