Shinsuke Nakamura left a lot of WWE fans confused on tonight’s (September 4) episode of Raw.
World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins came to the ring after the attack from Shinsuke after their match at Payback, where he challenged him to finish the fight.
Rollins offered Nakamura a championship rematch as an incentive to accept his challenge, but Nakamura instead chose to reject the proposed title match.
Shinsuke would go on to attack Rollins in the segment, and again after a disqualification loss to Ricochet.
In a WWE digital exclusive, Nakamura explained why he said no to Rollins’ proposed title match.
Nakamura said that he fights on his terms, and that he wants to continue to injure Seth’s back before he jumps back into the ring to take his title.
Another WWE Payback championship rematch has been announced for next week’s episode of Raw, with Rhea Ripley set to defend her title against Raquel Rodriguez, with Dominik Mysterio banned from ringside.
