One of the big reasons that Shinsuke Nakamura has received a push on WWE Raw as of late has been revealed.
Nakamura has recently been feuding with WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins and has previously spoken about his change of character.
Writing in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer addressed WWE’s renewed interest in Kazuchika Okada.
He would also state that Nakamura’s push is linked to the interest in Okada, writing:
One person who buzzed us about the renewed interest in Okada said that one of the reasons Nakamura is getting a renewed push is to show Okada that this regime is not going to treat Japanese like the stereotypical children-like role.
Nakamura has recently picked up wins over Alpha Academy members Akira Tozawa and Otis, and looks set for a match against Chad Gable soon.
Nakamura recently appeared via video message at DDT Pro where he wished Saki Akai a happy retirement and also faced the Great Muta during the Japanese wrestling legend’s retirement tour in Pro Wrestling NOAH.
