Shock Bray Wyatt Faction Member Teased, Top AEW Star’s Future In Doubt, WWE Bans Legendary Weapon – News Bulletin – October 14, 2022 WWE

A shocking Bray Wyatt faction member has been teased, a top AEW star’s career could be in doubt, WWE has banned a legendary hardcore weapon, and more.

It’s Friday morning and what better way to start the last day of the week than getting caught up on all the latest wrestling news – here’s our news bulletin for Friday, October 14, 2022.

Shock Bray Wyatt ‘Wyatt 6’ Faction Member Teased

Bray Wyatt will make his first live appearance since returning to WWE at Extreme Rules on tonight’s edition of SmackDown, and there’s a lot of anticipation about what he’s going to be doing.

A lot of fans are expecting Wyatt to form a faction called the ‘Wyatt 6’, based on his Twitter name and the fact there were five ‘characters’ who appeared alongside him at Extreme Rules.

Well, one former WWE star has teased being involved, and it’s probably not a name you’d have thought of…

Eva Marie – yes, that Eva Marie.

Doudrop and Eva Marie

Eva Marie’s short-lived 2021 stint in WWE saw her introduce, then turn on, Doudrop

Marie posted a video on Twitter of her throwing a Lily doll into a bin, with the caption “If I make this, I’m going back to WWE”, with Bray Wyatt tagged.

The video cuts out just before the doll actually submerges into said bin, and the new Bray Wyatt logo that appears on his merch was shown on screen.

Obviously the question is whether Marie is just playing around and having some fun so idiots like me write stuff like this, or maybe she actually is one of the many ex-WWE names the company is bringing back into the fold.

Adam Cole AEW Future In Doubt

Adam Cole hasn’t wrestled since Forbidden Door on June 26 where he was believed to have suffered a concussion, and his future seems to be up in the air.

Cole did briefly return to AEW TV on August 3 for the Undisputed Elite split angle, but then disappeared again. Since then, Kyle O’Reilly has undergone surgery, Bobby Fish has left the company, and the Young Bucks are suspended.

The Undisputed Elite only lasted in AEW for a few months before Bobby Fish was gone from the company

According to Dave Meltzer, Cole’s concussion is “real bad”, and there is a lot of uncertainty about the future of his career.

Meltzer said: “He’ll be back when he’s cleared – it could be tomorrow, and it could be never, you know what I mean?”.

Cole has been streaming on Twitch regularly, but it’s unclear when he’ll be fit and ready to return to the wrestling – not just the in-ring stuff but travelling as well.

WWE Bans Legendary Hardcore Weapon

SmackDown Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey has revealed that WWE has put down a ban on wrestlers using thumbtacks during matches.

Rousey said on her Twitch stream that she’d pitched the finish of the Extreme Rules match between herself and Liv Morgan to include thumbtacks, but:

“They said we can’t use thumbtacks anymore. That legally we can’t like purposefully, like, injure people, like, cut through skin and stuff. I don’t know.”

This comes after Rousey had previously said she’d also pitched using Lego bricks during the match, but was told no to that as well, because AEW had done it at some point and WWE didn’t want people to think they were copying AEW.

Clearly NXT didn’t get that same memo as Tiffany Stratton and Wendy Choo had used them during their lights out match in August.

Other Stuff

According to Fightful Select, Saraya, formerly Paige in WWE, was actually offered a role as a GM by the new WWE regime before she decided to join AEW instead – the report even noted that WWE higher-ups had said that if she wanted to return to the ring, they “would make that happen”.

Despite Adam Page referencing the Elite during his promo on AEW Dynamite this week, and Elite merch being sold at the show, Dave Meltzer said the status of the investigation into the post-All Out fight was “unchanged” as of Wednesday night.

With both AEW and WWE interested in signing him, Bandido is “leaning towards” AEW according to Meltzer.

Meltzer also reported that WWE Day 1 tickets for January 1, 2023 in Atlanta have been delayed because there was some discussion about changing the date, but ultimately WWE wants the show to be a New Year’s Day tradition every single year.

Judgment Day stalking Edge

Edge lost to Finn Balor in an I Quit match at Extreme Rules thanks to Judgment Day attacking his wife Beth Phoenix

Edge has been announced for the cast for Disney+ series Percy Jackson & The Olympians where he will play the character Ares.

Kurt Angle confirmed that he is under a “nostalgia contract” with WWE.

Ric Flair said he’d “love to be a part of” WWE, but doesn’t actually know what there would be for him to do there.

Rapper Post Malone posted a TikTok with Triple H, leading to some speculation he could be the next celebrity to work with WWE.

Arianna Grace and Kiana James

Arianna Grace had formed a tag team with Kiana James before taking time off due to injury

NXT star Arianna Grace, the real life daughter of Santino Marella, has confirmed that she’s injured and set to undergo surgery.

The match at AEW Battle of the Belts between FTR and the Gates Of Agony was AEW’s least viewed  TV match in the history of the company.

Speaking of viewership, this week’s AEW Dynamite drew 983,000 viewers and a 0.32 in the 18-49 demo.

Chris Bey signed a new multi-year deal to remain with IMPACT Wrestling. Eric Young has also extended his IMPACT deal to at least the end of 2022.

Set for tonight’s SmackDown is the aforementioned Bray Wyatt appearance, LA Knight vs månsôör, and Kofi Kingston vs Sami Zayn.

Tonight’s AEW Rampage has Jon Moxley & Claudio Castagnoli vs The Butcher & The Blade, FTR & Shawn Spears vs Brian Cage & Gates of Agony, Ethan Page vs Isiah Kassidy, and Nyla Rose vs Anna Jay. Full spoilers for the show are available at this link.

And set for tonight’s NXT Level Up is Ivy Nile vs Lash Legend, Myles Borne vs Dante Chen, and Duke Hudson & Bryson Montana vs Ikemen Jiro & the debuting Tank Ledger.
