Sting’s Sons Comment On Role In AEW Retirement Match

Sting’s Sons Comment On Role In AEW Retirement Match AEW, KOTHAS YouTube Channel

The sons of now retired wrestling legend Sting have commented on their memorable role in their father’s final match at AEW Revolution 2024.

In what made for a truly epic moment, Sting was joined by his son’s Garrett & Steven Borden for his his and Darby Allin’s tag team match against The Young Bucks.

What made it just so memorable however, was both Garrett & Steven’s outfit choices, which each represented two of Sting’s most iconic looks from his career.

Garrett donned the classic Surfer Sting look, with bleached blonde hair and flashy American jacket, while Steven appeared with NWO Wolfpack Sting complete with the striking red face paint.

Both also got a chance to perform some one of their father’s most famous moves: the Stinger Splash on both Nicholas and Matthew Jackson – as well as set up furniture for what was a brutal tornado tag team match.

Now that the dust has settled on the match both Garrett and Steven have commented on their involvement in their father’s final match.

Posting to Twitter, Steven posted a humorous message regarding his execution of the Stinger Splash, saying:

“Do not shame your dad, do not shame your dad, do not shame your dad” *jumps*

Steven’s technique on the splash was praised by AEW’s Renee Paquette in the comments of the post, who joked that the “air” he achieved performing the move should have been enough to earn him a talent contract.

A far more extensive analysis of the appearance came from Garrett however, who posted a video to his own YouTube channel – in which he uploads gaming content.

The channel, named KOTHAS, focuses primarily on content for the Destiny 2 video game, however, Garrett took a break from that to discuss AEW Revolution and his memorable cameo.

Garrett revealed that both he and his brother’s jackets that they wore to the ring at Revolution were actual original versions that Sting had previously worn – specifically his Surfer Sting jacket was the same that The Icon wore for The Great American Bash event in 1990.

He also revealed why he had been less frequent with his uploading to the channel recently, explaining that he had to go on a “crazy cut” in order to look as good as possible for the match.

This training regime was so intense that he revealed he even struggled to get off the couch due to his caloric deficiency at the time.

Garrett also took time to praise Darby Allin, calling him the “craziest human” he’d ever met, while also praising others he worked with in AEW for being “so good at what they do”.

Finally, Garrett also shared what he thought of the match – calling it the “greatest sendoff possible” while also praising his his dad’s performance, saying he “wrestled his heart out”.
